From 1st October 2015 the law is set to change regarding smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. All rental properties will be required to have a working smoke alarm fitted to each floor of the property (including entry level if a 1st floor maisonette) and a CO detector shall be required in any room with a solid fuel burning stove or open fire.
